No-Show Dinner Reservations Billing Policy

The chapter is financially responsible for the dinner reservations made. While we understand that there are at times emergency situations that make it unavoidable, our budget cannot continue to absorb the costs for those individuals who, for whatever reason, fail to cancel and cost the chapter. These additional costs are lost opportunity costs to our Chapter that could be applied for member benefits and educational purposes. Therefore, the Board of Directors has adopted the following with regards to no-shows effective at the May 2001 dinner meeting.

(A) "No-Show" is defined as an individual (member or non-member) who fails to attend AND pay for a dinner meeting, who has made a reservation for that meeting AND who did not cancel that reservation by 12:00 pm (noon) the day prior to the dinner meeting. Members who prepay for the entire year's meetings are excluded.

(B) An individual will be allowed an exception of one (1) no-show per calendar year. This exception will be confirmed by written notice to that member in accordance with Chapter procedures.

(C) After the one exception, a No-Show will be billed the Chapter's cost of the dinner they fail to attend, fail to pay for or fail to cancel their reservation by the 12:00 pm (noon) deadline.

(D) Pre-paid members are strongly encouraged to contact the Chapter Reservations Desk when they are unable to attend a dinner meeting.

Adopted by the Board of Directors - December 2000
